Canon Elura 100 review - tops of 2006
Published by Digital Video Camera / Camcorder Review Staff October 26th, 2006 in Canon, Camcorder Reviews
CamcorderInfo has named the Canon Elura 100 the best camera priced under $400. Gizmodo responded with a simply put WTF.
Camcorder info pointed out its many features for the price:
In addition to a large imager, the Elura 100 sports a microphone input - a must for recording audio to match the quality of your video, and a feature that’s rare in a sub-$400 camcorder. Adding to its versatility are analog inputs, allowing you to add a narration track or even transfer old Hi-8 cassettes to your computer for editing with analog to digital passthrough.
Gizmodo itself had good words for the Elura when the camcorder was first released:
It works with both Windows and Mac (thanks Canon) and includes easy-to-use Joystick, Smooth Zoom Control, Level Shot Control, 9 Point AiAF auto focus, Special Scene Modes and Image Effects. The Elura 100 also happens to be 35 percent smaller and 26 percent lighter than the previous Elura models and has an SD Memory Card slot.
And though the camera is listed at $399, Amazon has consistently priced it at just over $300. Pretty good deal, WTF or not.
