Digital Video Camera & Camcorder Review

The Samsung SC-D453 is extremely compact and lightweight. It has a good feature set at an inexpensive price point. It’s a MiniDV camera that comfortably fits in your pocket, and built to be an outdoors, fun in the sun style camcorder. So it works well in bright lit, sun filled areas, but it’s indoor capabilities are lacking which is reflected in the price.

Some TG Stores user reviews the Samsung SC-D453 and writes - “Strengths: Image Stabilizer, 10x Optical Zoom, Excellent Results, 1 Memory storage and 1 cassette storage, Light Weight, Very small, 1 hour and 20 min battery charge time, USB and Firewire i/o. Weaknesses: Software to transfer the Video or Image, lacks a standard memory card slot (it only has Memory Stick), limited still frame capture. Comments: I was pleasantly suprised when I got this camcorder. It was much smaller than I thought and i can easily carry it in my jacket pocket. For the price I paid I don’t worry too much about it which means I have a camcorder with me more often and take more movies with it.”

CNET Reviews has a review of the Samsung SC-D453 and gives it a rating of 6 (good). They write - “The Samsung SC-D453 responded well in our test shooting, quickly adjusting focus and exposure when we panned to new subjects. The comfortable zoom rocker allowed us to zoom in smoothly and precisely at both fast and slow rates.”
