thumb_C6_01.med.jpg6-Megapixel digital still photos and high quality MPEG-4 digital video!

Steve’s Digicams has a review on the Sanyo Xacti C6 Camcorder and says: “The SANYO Xacti C6 is a super-slim camera that captures high resolution 6-megapixel still images, VGA quality motion video with stereo audio with 60fps playback and a voice recorder function — and it all fits right in your pocket! The C6 is compact and ergonomically designed so it can be easily operated with just one hand. Compared to its predecessor, the Sanyo Xacti C5 Camcorder, the C6 employs a new low-noise, 6-megapixel CCD sensor and uses 9-pixel mixing technology which allows it to record much brighter and clearer video in low-light situations.

Features inherited from the C5 include a swiveling 2-inch trans-reflective color LCD screen, real-time interpolation up to 10.2 megapixels and a precision 5× optical zoom lens that remains internal to the camera body with a fast and accurate 5-point auto focus system. Most instances of camera shake will be eliminated or greatly reduced by the digital image stabilization system. Never again will precious photo opportunities be missed, because the versatile Xacti C6 can take high-resolution digital still images while simultaneously recording motion video.”

LetsGoDigital has news on the Sanyo Xacti C6 Camcorder and writes - “Sanyo Xacti C6 : In order to miniaturize the new Sanyo Xacti C6 digital camera without reducing optical performance, Sanyo developed a zoom lens with high-refraction glass. High-density packaging technology was also utilized, along with a high-precision design. The new Sanyo C6 is the world’s thinnest (23 mm), smallest (124 cc) and lightest (140 g, not including battery or SD card) model among video cameras with a Megapixel-or-higher image sensor and an optical zoom lens. The Sanyo Xacti C6 has been ergonomically designed for a comfortable one-handed grip. Its advanced, cutting-edge design makes it a fashionable portable item. The Xacti C6 comes in three colors, gold, red and black, each of which creates an attractive finish.

The control panel is located on the back of the movie camera for simple operation. Using just your thumb, you can take or play back pictures and control other functions. Using Sanyo’s proprietary technology and newly developed high-speed engine, the Xacti C6 can take 6.0-megapixel still pictures while shooting high-quality moving images (When still images are taken, video clip shooting will be interrupted for approximately 2 seconds. Also, when the digital image stabilizer is on and when certain picture modes are being used, the field of view of still images will be altered).”

ZDNet has a review on the Sanyo Xacti C6 Camcorder. They give it an editors review of 6.8 (Good) and write - “Think of the future. Think Jetsons. Now imagine the camcorder you’ll be carrying around with you. It would be pocket-size, tapeless, and equally adept at recording video and photos. In theory, you can buy that product today in the form of the Sanyo Xacti VPC-C6. It’s the latest incarnation of Sanyo’s slim-and-small digital movie camera, and you have to give the company credit for steadily improving the line. The sensor is now 6 megapixels (up from 5), and the zoom is much quieter than before, which is critical when shooting video. Other features include a 5X optical zoom, a digital image stabilizer, 60fps television output, and advanced low-light video recording. As with most devices this small, there are trade-offs. While much improved and relatively decent as far as MPEG-4 goes, the video still falls short of MiniDV quality. If portability nudges out image quality among your top criteria, this might just be your future camcorder.”
